Ingredients

• olive oil - 2 tablespoons
• garlic cloves, minced - 3
• canned crushed tomatoes - 28 ounces
• tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
• sugar - 1 teaspoon
• dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
• fresh basil leaves, chopped - ¼ cup
• salt - to taste
• black pepper - to taste

Instructions

   Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

   Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

   Stir in crushed tomatoes and tomato paste until well combined.

   Add sugar, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
