Ingredients

• All-purpose flour - 2 ½ cups

Instructions

   Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

   In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.

   Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture is crumbly.

   In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the vanilla extract and buttermilk.

   Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

   Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.

    Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until creamy and smooth.

    Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting over the first layer.

    Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake.
