Ingredients

• All-purpose flour - 1 ½ cups
• Granulated sugar - ¾ cup

• Lemon zest - 1 tablespoon

Instructions

   Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

   In a bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

   Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

   Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.

   In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

   Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

   Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

   Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

   While the cake is baking, mix the powdered sugar and lemon juice for the drizzle.

    Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

    Transfer the cake to a wire rack and drizzle the lemon glaze over the top while the cake is still warm.
