Ingredients

• Unsalted butter - 1 cup
• Dark chocolate - 8 oz
• Granulated sugar - 1 ½ cups
• Brown sugar - ½ cup
• Eggs - 4 large
• Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
• All-purpose flour - 1 cup
• Cocoa powder - ¼ cup
• Salt - ½ teaspoon
• Caramel sauce - 1 cup
• Coarse sea salt - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

   Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

   Melt the butter and dark chocolate together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth.

   Remove from heat and whisk in granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

   Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then fold together until just combined.

   Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

   Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

   While the brownies are baking, prepare the caramel layer by warming the caramel sauce slightly.

   Once the brownies are done, pour the caramel sauce evenly over the top while still warm.

   Sprinkle with coarse sea salt and allow to cool in the pan before slicing into squares and serving.
