Ingredients

• Apples - 6 medium, peeled and cored
• Unsalted butter - 100g
• Granulated sugar - 200g
• Puff pastry - 1 sheet
• Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
• Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Instructions

   Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).

   In a heavy ovenproof skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

   Add sugar and stir until it dissolves and caramelizes to a golden brown.

   Arrange the apples in the caramel, cut side up, and cook for 10 minutes.

   Drizzle with vanilla extract and lemon juice.

   Roll out the puff pastry and place it over the apples, tucking the edges in.

   Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden.

   Let it cool for 5 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
