Instructions

Place the sponge cake on a baking sheet.

Scoop the ice cream into a dome shape on top of the cake and freeze until firm, about 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F).

In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy.

Gradually add sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.

Beat in vanilla extract.

Spread the meringue over the ice cream and cake, sealing the edges completely.

Bake in the preheated oven for 3-5 minutes, or until the meringue is golden brown.
9.
Serve immediately.
