Ingredients

• All-purpose flour - 1 cup
• Cocoa powder - ½ cup
• Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
• Salt - ¼ teaspoon
• Unsalted butter - ½ cup (1 stick)
• Granulated sugar - 1 cup
• Egg - 1 large
• Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
• Milk - ¼ cup

Instructions

   Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

   In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

   In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

   Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

   Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

   Stir in the milk until the dough is smooth.

   Drop teaspoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

   Flatten each dough ball slightly with the back of a spoon or your fingers.

   Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm but the centers remain slightly soft.

    Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
