Ingredients

• dark chocolate - 200 grams
• milk - 2 cups
• sugar - ½ cup
• cornstarch - ¼ cup
• vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
• cherries - 1 cup, pitted and halved
• salt - a pinch

Instructions

   In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt.

   Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.

   Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.

   Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate and vanilla extract, stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

   Fold in the halved cherries gently into the pudding.

   Pour the pudding into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

   Garnish with additional cherries or whipped cream if desired.
