Ingredients

• All-purpose flour - 1 and ½ cups
• Granulated sugar - 1 cup
• Baking powder - 1 and ½ teaspoons
• Salt - ¼ teaspoon
• Unsalted butter - ½ cup (1 stick)
• Eggs - 2 large
• Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
• Milk - ½ cup
• Caramel sauce - ½ cup
• Powdered sugar - 2 cups
• Heavy cream - 2 tablespoons

Instructions

   Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a cupcake pan with liners.

   In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

   In a separate bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

   Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in vanilla extract.

   Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, until just combined.

   Stir in 1/4 cup caramel sauce until evenly distributed.

   Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

   Let cupcakes cool completely on a wire rack.

   For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar.

    Mix in remaining caramel sauce and heavy cream until smooth and fluffy.

    Frost cooled cupcakes with caramel frosting and drizzle with extra caramel sauce, if desired.
