Ingredients

• Brown sugar - 1 cup
• Butter - 4 tablespoons
• Cornstarch - 3 tablespoons
• Salt - ¼ teaspoon
• Whole milk - 2 cups
• Heavy cream - ½ cup
• Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
• Egg yolks - 3

Instructions

   In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and stir in brown sugar until dissolved.

   Whisk in the cornstarch and salt until combined.

   Slowly add milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

   Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.

   In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and gradually add a small amount of the hot mixture to temper.

   Return the egg mixture to the saucepan and cook for an additional 2 minutes while stirring.

   Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

   Pour the pudding into serving dishes and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
