Ingredients

• All-purpose flour - 2 ½ cups
• Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
• Salt - ½ teaspoon
• Unsalted butter - 1 cup (2 sticks), softened
• Brown sugar - 1 ¾ cups, packed
• Eggs - 2 large
• Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons

Instructions

   Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

   In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

   In a large bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar together until smooth and creamy.

   Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

   Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

   Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

   Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will appear soft.

   Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
