Ingredients

• All-purpose flour - 3 ½ cups
• Sugar - ½ cup
• Active dry yeast - 2 ¼ teaspoons
• Salt - 1 teaspoon
• Whole milk - 1 cup
• Unsalted butter - ¼ cup
• Eggs - 2 large
• Vegetable oil - for frying
• Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
• Heavy cream - 1 cup
• Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
• Powdered sugar - for dusting

Instructions

   In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

   In a saucepan, warm milk and butter until butter melts; cool slightly.

   Add milk mixture, eggs, and vanilla to dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.

   Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.

   Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.

   Roll the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into rounds using a donut cutter.

   Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).

   Fry donuts until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side; drain on paper towels.

   For the cream, whisk together heavy cream, cornstarch, and sugar over medium heat until thickened.

    Cool the cream and fill into donuts using a piping bag.
