Ingredients

• Pound cake - 1 loaf
• Vanilla ice cream - 1 quart
• Egg whites - 4
• Granulated sugar - 1 cup
• Cream of tartar - ¼ teaspoon
• Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

   Line a bowl with plastic wrap and pack the ice cream into it. Freeze until firm.

   Slice the pound cake into 1-inch thick slices and arrange them on a baking sheet.

   Remove the ice cream from the bowl and place it on top of the cake slices.

   In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.

   Gradually add the sugar and vanilla extract, beating until stiff peaks form.

   Spread the meringue over the ice cream and cake, ensuring it's completely covered.

   Preheat the oven to 230°C (450°F).

   Bake the dessert for 3-5 minutes until the meringue is golden brown.

   Serve immediately.
